The youngest of 10 children, Rosemary started writing as a way to express herself and cope with a physical illness. Author of six books.

A Dinosaur in London

I first heard of Bishop Williamson back in 1991. I was 14 and was just introduced to the Latin Mass. The traditional priests are said to be happier and have a peace about them because they have the true Mass. The Bishop who was then Fr. Williamson was much younger. I watched and saw Father Williamson being interviewed in a video about a former seminary/retreat house in CT. He appeared very wise yet morally sound and very smart. His intelligence was evident...I was very impressed.

He is now called the Dinosaur in London--because he is much older now and lives in London currently. He was elevated to Bishop when Archbishop Lefebvre chose 4 of his priests to become Bishops, mainly to carry on the training of priests in the old way, and you cannot do that without bishops. There was of course controversy on this in the Vatican but when you know what the truth is, you have to do it. I believe things between the Society of St. Pius X -the name of Archbishop Lefebvre's organization are now in harmony. You see for many years the Latin Mass was withheld from the Catholics who wanted it.

Open Letter to Confused Catholics! Written by Marcel Lefebvre

Bishop Williamson served 20 years as rector of the seminary both in CT and MN, and was appointed bishop by Archbishop Lefebvre. The Society of St. Piux X was founded to serve people and offer the Traditional Latin Mass to the faithful. Many did not like the radical changes in Vatican II which are deemed erroneus and not valid. I must say, if you never were Catholic or were born well after 1969, these changes that took place shocked many to say the least. Some examples:

  1. Changing the altar to a table
  2. The priest now facing the people, not altar
  3. The way the Mass was different and called a "meal" not a sacrifice
  4. No more head coverings for women in Church

Eventually it developed even more to:

  1. Altar girls
  2. No kneeling for communion
  3. communion in the hand
  4. English instead of Latin (or the vernacular)
  5. Guitars replaced organs
  6. Protestant hymns replaced the old sacred Catholic hymns

And people wonder why many Catholics don't go to Mass anymore! LOL!! "This is a new religion", many Catholics have said. I believe this is why many also leave the Church , because the Church is no longer there.........

Here is my meeting w/ Bishop Williamson

I had written to Bishop Williamson a few time and was in a serious relationship with someone. This person is still an ashiest but wanted to meet the Bishop and talk with him, as he was very impressed by seeing this bishop speak on a tape. I told the Bishop how important it was to me to help this man's soul. Because the Bishop wanted to help, he one day called me from Argentina-he's a world traveler- and gave me instructions how we could meet.

I promptly called a long time friend of mine, who agreed to drive me and my friend there and back while staying one night in NY.

We arrived after a long drive at the airport. I waited for the Bishop to get off the plane. My long time friend carried his luggage. I looked at the Bishop and greeted him, and after I reminded him of the old vhs tape I saw him on, he asked, "Do I still look like I did then?!" I answered, "Oh yes.." He is quite an attractive priest. He was quick with his wit and kept my atheist friend on his toes...Anyway, he's very proper and would not allow a hub but let me kiss his ring. Then a priest from the retreat house in CT, Fr. Robinson came to pick him up. Bishop Williamson spent a good 2 hours after his long flight from Argentina to NYC speaking with my friend and it was really a thrill.t of God.

Afterwards , I remember my boyfriend saying he thought the Bishop was an extraordinaryly kind person, who meaned well (He wasn't converted), and who was incredibly generous to meet with him after my request. He said the Bishop was humble, and that not many people would do something like that- to help someone's soul. (The traditional priests who come to say Mass at one of many SSPX Chapels in the US, go out of their way--traveling 2hrs or more, to come weekly and say Mass for the faithful.

Nothing is too much (the mentality of true Christians) to try to spread the Truth! :-)

I have a special place in my heart for Bishop Williamson--I think of him as a celebrity; his knowledge and ways of explaining things keep me quite rivited!
