Being intimate with Jesus our God
74When I typed this title I was aware of some of the readers who may not be Spiritual, and may wonder "How can one be intimate with God???"
Well the word intimate has 3 meanings according to www.bing.com. They are:
-
- close: having, involving, or resulting from a close personal relationship
- cozy: quiet and private or secluded, enabling people to feel relaxed with each other
- private and personal: so private and personal as to be kept secret or discussed only with a close friend or relative
None of these mention "sex" which is often and undoubtedly linked sometimes to "intimate".
Many people have an intimate relationship with Christ, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, whichever word you choose to call God--He is in Christian and Catholic belief: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is also called the Sacred Heart, the Holy One, the Annointed One, etc.
Now as I said, we, many of us have an intimate relationship with God: a close, cozy even, private and personal which is often secret.
Here is what I wrote the other night which will describe or give example:
I am hit by God, His word; I feel amazed--this journey I've been on for 18+ years is finally turning upwards.
It's Amazing our relationship with God especially in the private "Thank you"s we share with God to Him. (How many times have you said "God please help me with this" or out of relief "Thank you, Jesus!".
I was just thanking God a few moments ago for the blessings I felt and I know that every event in my life leads to another: By being kind to the elderly I become rewarded and blessed through the patience and kindness I show them.
"Every good act is precious," God whispers into my ear now. Every act, where love is implemented, is worthy of God.
I realize how fragile life is and that my parents are just, in their old age, seeking any joy they can get out of life. It moves me that I can do this, that I'm in a position of love, How often do people in nursing homes get provided with someone who truly loves and cares?
God asks each of us to be special. We are called to great, to be righteous, and to do something kind and to make someone's day. Didn't Jesus do that in the gospels, when he cured people and said words of comfort?
I truly didn't understand before--in my depression--when it's said "A smile can brighten someone's day..." It really can as well as a kind word, thoughtful comment or gift...
I write hubs from my heart because
- I want to share with you my blessings/experiences
- I feel it will have more impact if it's honest/meaningful
- I really prefer to write this way
The Holy Spirit doesn't often move me with His Spirit. Being an instrument for the Lord, is so, so, so much an honor. It's amazing~what I'm feeling now.
What I wrote above wasn't the entire script or what I felt. I think it was too intimate to share everything. Speaking to Jesus or prayer to Jesus, is often such a special, intimate thing. We lay our burdens, our thoughts, our worries, our hearts before God and he hears us.
The Heart of Jesus is called Sacred ........
A Beautiful Hymn
O Sacred Heart O Love Divine do keep us near to Thee
And make our love so like to Thine, that we may holy be
Refrain:
Heart of Jesus Hear! O Heart of love Divine
Listen to our prayer, make us always thine.
Verse II
O Temple pure O house of gold our heaven here below
What sweet delights, what wealth untold
That we may ever show.
Refrain
Jesus Bleeds for Love of Us
What have you heard of the Sacred Heart?

Dear schoolgirlforreal, my sister in Christ, for someone who is only 18, you show much knowledge and wisdom at such a young age. Sharing an intimacy with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit, is a very very special thing for any person, Christian or Non-Christian, and something they should clutch to cling to and never let go of.
Brother Dave.
Hello sister in Christ and friend. This hub brings out an excellent point. Our relationship with Jesus is not a shared one, but rather a personel one on one relationship. Until we touch and breathe Him in our lives, we dont ever obtain the fullness of His love. God bless you my friend.
Lovely and uplifting! You write from your heart, just as the Holy Spirit moves you, and the result is a blessing to all read your words! I thank you for sharing this wonderful hub! God Bless!
